About the Foundation

The Sons of Italy Foundation® (SIF) is a philanthropic institution established by the Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA) in 1959. Since its founding, the SIF has donated nearly $130 million to scholarships, medical research, cultural preservation, disaster relief, and other charitable causes.

Scholarship Program

Each year, the Sons of Italy Foundation awards merit-based scholarships to the nation's brightest Italian American students. Scholarships include:

  • National Leadership Grant Competition - Scholarships for outstanding students across the country.
  • SIF Scholarship Fund - Annual grants supporting students pursuing higher education.

Garibaldi-Meucci Museum

The Sons of Italy Foundation owns and operates the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum, located in Staten Island, NY. This historic home was once the residence of Antonio Meucci, an inventor, and Giuseppe Garibaldi, a revolutionary leader. The museum celebrates Italian-American contributions to history.
